What is Anti-Aging?

This topic, which concerns all of humanity, continues to become increasingly popular each day. Considering the technological level that gene technology and cloning have reached, it includes goals such as delaying the effects of aging as well as extending lifespan further. In other words, humankind is searching for immortality with all its might. Anti-aging applications should be examined under 3 main headings.

Nutrition

Japan's Okinawa island maintained the top rankings in longevity worldwide for many years. Following the American occupation after World War II and the penetration of fast-food chains throughout the country into the island, significant decreases in life expectancy have been observed.

Another example from the world is the extremely isolated society of Crete island. A notable characteristic of Cretans, who live in isolation on the island, is that health problems such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and circulatory system issues are almost never seen. When investigating the Cretan diet, two details were identified. First, they prefer fish as their protein source, and second, they consume plenty of vegetables prepared only with olive oil.

In light of the above examples, it has now been confirmed that dietary pattern and style play a primary and very important role in aging and lifespan.

Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided as much as possible, while water, green tea, fruit teas, and fresh fruit juices should be preferred. It's important to remember that certain trace elements and antioxidants, which we believe have effects in reducing bodily wear, should primarily be obtained from foods (at least 4-5 portions of fresh vegetables and fruits daily), and in cases of deficiency, supplementary treatments arranged by an expert should be sought.

The most important of these are:

  • Alpha lipoic acid
  • Vitamins C and E
  • Coenzyme Q10, Selenium
  • Calcium, magnesium, Zinc
  • Carotenoids and flavonoids (natural coloring substances found in fruits, vegetables, and legumes)
  • Green tea and grape seed extract
  • DHEA and glutathione

Some of the substances listed above are found in combination in certain products, but dosages may be insufficient. Due to potential drug interactions or situations requiring gender-specific distinctions, they should absolutely be recommended by an expert.

Aesthetics

In this sense, it involves trying to reduce certain changes that occur on the face and body with advancing age through soft aesthetic interventions.

The most common changes seen on the face are wrinkles and sagging, roughly divided into deep and superficial. Depending on the location and level of wrinkles, botox, filler treatment, or mezolift, which shows a lifting effect applied to the entire face with a mixture of protein and vitamins, can be applied. All these procedures are superficial and reversible interventions that take approximately 30-60 minutes.

The most common reaction of the body with age is showing a tendency towards increase in fat tissue and decrease in muscle tissue. A diet aimed at preserving muscle tissue and reducing fat, along with necessary vitamin and mineral support, is among the priority actions to be taken. Of course, the changes observed with increased fat and decreased muscle are regional fat accumulation and sagging. Treatment methods such as lipolysis, carboxytherapy, and mesotherapy can be applied for regional problems.

Exercise and Rest

Athletic activity is of utmost importance in preventing muscle mass reduction, stimulating bone structure, and maintaining cardiovascular health. What needs attention is the duration and intensity of exercise. In light of the latest developments in healthy living, exercise duration should never exceed 60 minutes, with 30 minutes consisting of aerobic activity-oriented exercises (running, cycling, rowing, cross trainer, step, dance), and the other 30-minute portion should be spent with a weight program designed for working the abdominal and whole body muscles.

We especially want to emphasize that it is not possible to achieve desired results with athletic activities exceeding 60 minutes. Another important issue is that stretching exercises must be done before and after sports; only this way can you increase your muscle quality.
